There are essentially two sets of rules or laws: one for the wealthy and another for everyone else. This disparity is highlighted by the case of Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, who has served on the Court since 1991 and is one of the most influential figures in the country. Recently, ProPublica reported on a serious corruption scandal involving Thomas. For decades, he has accepted luxury vacations funded by real estate billionaire and Republican donor Harlan Crow, who is notorious for his efforts to tilt U.S. courts to the right. It will be interesting to see what developments arise from this situation.
